Official Contest Rules

Please read the following information carefully.

Entry

To enter the contest, retweet one of the following tweets before midnight August 20th (Pacific Standard Time):

One entry per contestant. Retweeting multiple contest tweets counts as a single entry. Contestants that enter with more than one Twitter account will be disqualified. Entrant accounts must be primarily operated by a non-commercial human entity. New accounts, retweet-only accounts, contest bots, and similar dubious Twitter accounts will be disqualified. The winning Twitter account will be investigated for its validity. International entrants are accepted. The rules of this contest adhere to Canadian Law in the province of British Columbia. Local legislation may disqualify an entrant. Contestants are responsible for knowing and adhering to local law.

Winning

The winner of the contest will be determined via random draw. The selected winner must have an active Twitter account (for notification). In addition, the winner must answer a skill-testing question to claim their prize. The winner will be announced on Twitter and on this page. The winning entrant will receive notification via Twitter from the account @ScottHamerton (ensure that you are able to receive private messages from @ScottHamerton). If the winner cannot be contacted privately, an attempt will be made publicly. If no response is received within one week, a new winner will be drawn. If the winner is disqualified (see: Entry), a new winner will be drawn at random.

The odds of winning are directly affected by the number of participants, being approximately 1 in X, where X is the number of retweets from unique accounts before the deadline.

Prize

The total prize value of this contest is approximately $300(USD). Gift cards may be transferred to an alternative Amazon marketplace at current exchange rates (with some rounding).

The grand prize includes:

  • a Kindle leather cover (color of choice, depending on availability)
  • NEW! A $50 Amazon gift card!
